Jensen Huang Just Delivered Great News to Nvidia Shareholders

Nvidia reported fiscal 2027 Q2 adjusted EPS of $2.22 (+120% Y/Y) on revenue of $96.22B (+106% Y/Y), topping consensus ($2.10 EPS; $92.17B revenue). Management guided Q3 revenue to $108B (+/-2%) versus $104.2B expected and gross margin to 74% (+/-0.5%), while CFO lifted CPU upside, now expecting CPU revenue to more than double in fiscal 2028. The company also repurchased $26B of stock in the quarter (with $99B remaining), and shares were up about 3.8% as investors focused on an AI “inflection point” and accelerating demand.

Analysis

Near term, this is still a read-through event for the entire AI stack, but the biggest incremental upside is probably not in the obvious GPU buyer. The market should continue to reward the infrastructure bottlenecks around power, networking, memory, advanced packaging, and thermal management because those layers capture incremental spend even if accelerator economics normalize; that argues for better relative performance in names like AVGO, ANET, VRT, TSM, and MU versus pure application-beta.

The main risk over the next 1-3 months is not demand disappearing; it is customer ROI scrutiny. If hyperscalers start to slow capex or if enterprise AI monetization remains fuzzy, the narrative can flip from scarcity to digestion very quickly, and the valuation premium can compress even while revenue still grows. The growing role of vendor/customer financing also matters: it can extend the cycle, but it quietly adds credit and working-capital risk that the market may be underpricing.

Contrarian view: consensus is treating this as evidence of an inexhaustible demand curve, but the more important signal may be that AI spend is broadening beyond a single buyer group, which helps the ecosystem while reducing the chance that any one vendor keeps all the economics. Over 6-18 months, the likely outcome is sustained growth with some margin normalization, not a straight-line expansion in multiples. Thesis falsifier: any meaningful step-down in forward guide growth, gross margin slipping below the current band, or signs that order conversion is being pushed out rather than accelerated.
